I’m a mum. Don’t get me wrong, I love being spoiled but I don’t actually love expensive gifts and presents on mum’s day. I’m very much a ‘handmade gift and extra sleep’ kind of girl, and so are lots of my friends.
I have an observational obsession… It’s eyebrows, more specifically, other people’s eyebrows. As a teenager of the late ‘90s I plucked my eyebrows to death as was the fashion. With the trend fixed on thin, delicate brows, my poor un-trained plucking skills left mine horrendously patchy and looking like some sort of crap Morse code.Comments (

The kids are off, so OF COURSE it starts absolutely pxxing down, monsoon style, the second they finish. This leaves frantic mothers bulk buying virgin media films (just me?) and cramming in snacks (also me?) to their delightful offspring in a desperate attempt to get just one minutes peace.Comments (
Almost all self-employed people will tell you that this time of year is one the two big ‘skint’ moments as payments on account are due. So, it is always around now that I start to scale back my budget and look for goodies that won’t break the bank, or irritate the accountant.Comments (
