Even the least interested in cosmetics amongst you will undoubtedly have heard of Touché Eclat. YSL’s complexion enhancer (NOT concealer) is a legend in beauty circles for hiding the darkest bags and illuminating the dullest complexions. The perfect consistency blend, a great range of tones and iconic packaging have made it incomparable: you won’t find many make-up artists without it in their kits and no A-Lister gets through those ‘naked faced’ pap shots without it.
Such is its lustre that no dupe (that is cheaper imitation to those of you not up on your beauty lingo) has to date even come close to touching it’s marvellous-ness. Until now.
Meet Avon’s (yes, seriously) ANEW Age Transforming Concealer with SPF 15. This actually is a concealer, but to the none-poncy amongst you – it is the same thing in concept, just not in name.
Made for over twenty-fives with under eye issues, whilst the packaging is not as pretty (although blooming good for an Avon product), the cream itself is excellent. Twist the base to release the product and then simply brush onto the under eye area. It is light, but with a decent coverage, blends beautifully and surprisingly enough really lasts.
If I have any criticisms, they would be that you need to blend quickly – this product dries extremely fast and that the shade range is limited to just two – Avon really need to up their game in making products more accessible for a wider skin range.
That being said for £9, a saving of £25 this is a massive bargain, not to mention a really, truly excellent substitute for a classic beauty hero.
Don’t hit the school run (or office post night out) without it
