GlossyBox October 2014 - the (pop) art of getting it right!

glossy biox

I know lots of bloggers like to review the Glossybox as soon as it hits the mat, with the aim of being one of the first to get the contents out there.

Whilst I like a spoiler as much as the next person, ultimately, the point of the box is the products, so I hope no-one minds that I have waited a week and really given everything a thorough going over before submitting my thoughts!

Before getting to the goodies, we really need to talk about the box. Recently glossy boxes seem to be getting prettier and prettier and this one really outdoes itself. That can be a poison chalice though – when the outside looks this good the inside had better live up to expectations; sadly rare in recent months.

Not the case this month though – I was pleasantly surprised. Contents included:

Yves Rocher Quelques Notes D'Amour perfume | from £17.50 for 30ml

Speaking of big girls, this is a very grown up perfume. Warm, inviting and quite mature, it can be a little overwhelming so go easy. One for that big meeting at head-office when you need to show them just how capable you are!

rimmel bb cream

Rimmel BB Cream Matte | £6.99 for 30ml

I am not a fan of BB creams and this one is no different. Too light coverage, the effect tends to go patchy on my combination skin and just doesn’t last long enough. Perfect for the average 18 year old but big girls need better.

ciate paint pot

Ciaté London Paint Pot in Ditch the Heels | £9

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS!!!!! Bloody love it. Nuff said.

so susan mascara

So Susan Flutter Mascara | £14.95

I am not sure if it is the brush or the formula but my eyes hate this product. Smudgy, not thick enough and the brush is too small for true volumising. A disappointment.

nuxe masque fraiche

Nuxe Crème Fraîche de Beauté Mask | £19.50

Interestingly, I thought I would hate this mask. A mask to me is something that lifts the crap out of my skin and leaves it red and fresh, like new. This is something more gentle but actually very lovely for it – soothing and refreshing my skin was noticeably hydrated and more even looking for 48 hours afterwards – not bad!!

lip lift peel

être belle cosmetics Liplift Peel | €12.95

Best. Lip-smoothing. Product. EVER. Takes a while to get used to but my lips looked amazing after using this – kissable and fresh. If you have a first, third or three hundred and sixty eighth date coming up you NEED this product in your life!

Verdict: A good month!
